At HybridIT, our business involves value-adding various
open source projects with the specific needs of small and midsize
businesses in mind. We add code to these open source projects, and
sometimes that code is proprietary, sometimes it is Open Source, and
sometimes it is a bit of both. Then we often add further code to
integrate the various Open Source projects together, to provide a
highly functional integrated solution that has historically been beyond
the reach of smaller businesses.
We also integrate proprietary software into our overall info@hand solution suite, including the QuickBooks
accounting system from Intuit. Our view is that a mixed source solution
is currently the best for providing cost effective business management
for smaller businesses in the 2-200 employee range, together with
quality centralized support.
Some of the Open Source projects involved in the creation of the info@hand Customer Relationship and Business Management (CRBM) system include SugarCRM, Joomla!™, VirtueMart, and trixbox/Asterisk.
Joomla!
is one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management Systems on
the planet. Licensed under the GNU Public License (GPL), it is used all
over the world for everything from simple websites to complex corporate
applications. Joomla! is easy to install, simple to manage, and
reliable.
The Customer Portal that is available to work with info@hand
is currently built from Joomla! 1.0.13, and includes a custom template,
and a number of additional custom Joomla! components which allow the
clients of a small business to create and view Cases and Bugs within
the associated info@hand installation, support
Project collaboration, and which offer additional features such as
Forums, Knowledge Base, FAQs, updating the client's own information
profile within the CRM, and accessing recent Invoice, Payment and Quote
history.
While this Customer Portal was designed to operate exclusively with our own info@hand
system and does not function with other CRMs such as SugarCRM Community
Edition or Pro/Enterprise, the code of these additional Joomla!
components is available free of charge upon request if for some reason
you feel it would be of use to you. Simply contact us at 01 8726551
